Meet Harriet Marshall
Harriet has practiced yoga for 25 years. She first discovered yoga while working in London’s design industry, using it as an antidote to stress. Now, teaching in South Africa has become both her vocation and passion.
Journey to Cape Town and Motherhood
After moving to Cape Town in 2006 and having children, Harriet specialised in yoga for women. She is a well-known peri-natal yoga teacher who has taught through all four of her pregnancies. Over the past 13 years, her classes have covered fertility, prenatal, and postpartum yoga. Recently, she expanded her expertise to include yoga for hormonal health.
Doula Training and Teaching Evolution
Training as a doula nine years ago deeply influenced Harriet’s teaching style. Attending births shifted her approach, making it more intuitive and nurturing.
A Network for Women’s Wellness
Harriet supports women across Cape Town—from fertility to peri-menopause. Along the way, she has built a strong network of women. Through yoga, support groups, and her product line, she offers ongoing support for motherhood and beyond.
Bloom Mama: Giving Back to Mothers
Harriet runs Bloom Mama, a nonprofit organisation close to her heart. This project provides pregnancy, birthing, and newborn essentials to less fortunate mothers in Cape Town.
Women supporting women. Mothers supporting mothers.
hello
"I am so grateful that we got the chance to do Harriet's couples class before our mid April delivery and doing it over Zoom worked just brilliantly. Harriet's knowledgeable advice not only on the benefits that yoga poses and breathing would offer us on the day, but also what to expect proved invaluable."
Hanli & Peter Parents to Ava“B&B is a tribe of magnificent mamas. It has saved my sanity and made me laugh and cry out loud. It is the most supportive, balanced and diverse parenting resource I draw on and it has given me the best possible sense of a village helping to raise my child in this modern disconnected world. I search my B&B chat history before I search Google!”
Caryn Mama to Jack & Raya“Harriet’s classes brought a calm to me and helped my body create the space to allow my baby to grow - a calm that I carried home to my husband and helped us believe everything was going to be okay. Her unfailing belief that I could be a good mother to my little boy made me believe it too.”
Natalie Mama to Finn
"I have been suffering day and night with nausea during this pregnancy and absolutely love the smell of this blend. It eases my nausea, clears my head and is refreshing and soothing. It rolls beautifully, and is incredibly useful when I'm overwhelmed by the smells around me. I've found using it extremely comforting and I can even see myself continuing to use it when this tough stage is over."
